Open House Saturday June 8, Woodfield Fine Art Gallery
My first year of painting was limited to acrylic on canvas, and the image below was originally painted in acrylic (2017). Acrylic is an easy to work with medium, but doesn't lend itself to building a luminous field, for me, as does oil. I revisited the painting this week and here it is in oil. This painting wasn't considered for the show this Saturday evening, as it was still wet.

Pier II - Oil on Canvas 20'X24"

Pier I - Acrylic on Canvas
I think the final painting in oil better reflects the brilliant sunset that once showcased the St Petersburg Pier.
Hope to see you on Saturday at the gallery, 2253 Central Ave, St Petersburg, 5:00pm to 9:00pm.
